As part of the 33rd international conference "CECIIS - Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems”, which was held in Dubrovnik from 21st to 23rd September 2022, a work meeting, a focus group with renowned experts from European universities, and a presentation of research papers on decision-making styles and learning analytics implementation in higher education institutions was held. The activities are part of the second project period (03/22 - 08/23) of the "HELA – Improving HEI maturity to implement learning analytics" project, which is funded by the Croatian Science Foundation. HELA project leader, Prof. Nina Begičević Ređep, Ph.D., dean of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb (FOI), held a work meeting, to present members of the HELA research group with a plan of activities, results, and goals in the second implementation period of the project (03/22 - 08/23) and reflect on the successfully implemented first period (03/21 - 02/22).
Co-leader of the project, Prof. Diana Šimić, Ph.D., with the members of the FOI research group: Barbara Šlibar, M. Inf., Sabina Rako, M.Sc., and Jelena Gusić Munđar, M. Math held a focus group. This activity aimed to learn more about the information needed by editors, reviewers, and readers of research papers when evaluating, applying, reproducing, or synthesizing results of research on the application of learning analytics in practice. The expert’s perspectives and knowledge will help the rest of the project team identify the best practices and draft recommendations for reporting on such research.
In addition to the work meeting and focus group with experts, members of the HELA research group, from FOI, presented two research papers written within the second project period:
1) Analyzing Decision-Making Styles: Army vs. Business students in Croatia, Kadoić N., Jagačić T., Gligora Marković M.
2) Learning analytics implementation in higher education institutions: Enterprise risk management approach, Dvorski Lacković I.
