About the project

Research project (IP-2020-02-5071) „HELA - Improving HEI maturity to implement learning analytics” is funded under Croatian Science Foundation. Project leader is Prof. Nina Begičević Ređep, PhD. The project budget is 776.230,00 HRK. The project duration is 4 years (01/03/2021 – 28/02/2025).

The purpose of this research is to contribute to a better understanding and optimization of the teaching and learning processes supported by learning analytics (LA) through improving higher-educational institution (HEI) maturity to implement LA. Since blended learning environments are becoming ubiquitous, and taking into account that context may have decisive influence on LA adoption, we will narrow the scope of our research to the blended learning environments. We propose to develop a maturity framework for LA implementation in a blended learning environment.

Project objectives:

  • Objective 1: Identify use cases and gaps in use of LA in a blended educational environment in higher education (HE) at the level of institutional policy, study programs, courses and lectures.
  • Objective 2: Identify resources necessary to implement LA in a blended educational environment at levels of institutional policy, study program and course.
  • Objective 3: Identify pedagogical, ethical and privacy issues in use of LA and how they can be resolved.
  • Objective 4: Develop LA adoption maturity framework (LAAMF) in blended educational environment.
  • Objective 5: Develop model use cases of LA.
